First, not looking for a date. Not looking for a date. Not looking for a date. If you try and "slide into my DM's", I will just block you so please, again, I'm not looking for a date.
Okay, so with that out of the way. My kids are gone, I still feel new to town, I don't have any friends here, my friends from out of town are all busy with their families this weekend and I just need to get out of the house. But where?
I don't want to feel out of place going by myself somewhere but I'm also not comfortable tagging along with strangers - and I'm probably too socially awkward for that to happen at this point in my life. Lol. I don't want to stand out as the woman all by herself either. And I don't want to go somewhere where I'll be hit on all night. I'm also long past dive bars or hanging around places that are full 20-somethings (so probably not Gallon House or that Tiki bar place, right?).
I used to love this little winery where I lived and I could go and sit by myself and read a book with a glass of wine or maybe sit at their bar and chat with their sommelier. Sometimes I found myself in social circles conversing with others but it was never weird for me in any of those situations. Does a place like this exist here?
I've also found that when I go here, everyone seems to stick to their little groups, is this normal or am I perceiving this incorrectly?
Lastly, any tips for an introvert not from here (but I am an Oregonian though!!) on what to talk to others about? Subjects to ask about? Subjects to stay away from?
TYIA!
