My wife and I (mid-late 30s) moved here recently (not from California) and we are just starting to venture out. We've gone out some but so far haven't been able to really meet anyone.

In our previous city, we'd go out and talk with everyone and make great friends by nights end. We haven't found that here. We're really hoping that it's because of covid and people are still in their bubbles.

Just about everyone in town that we have come across is really polite and friendly but they all seem to be in their own groups. But maybe it's because we haven't gone the right spots?

We looked through the sub here and saw some recommendations to meet people through groups and that's cool but we would really like to meet people out in the wild. We love to go out and want to find friends that do too.

Can anyone give a rundown on what types of people are usually at certain spots too? We will like to try them all out but also don't mind avoiding some.
