I really don't want to sound like a Karen here but I don't know how else to ask. I certainly don't want to ask this on Facebook or Nextdoor but I will take the incoming comments with a grain of salt.
I would like to place these here first to calm the karen vibes a little: we always tip 20-30%, always; neither myself or anyone in my company are ever rude-- we always say "please" and "thank you"; we almost never (I want to say never) request anything special; we aren't obnoxious; the staff is always very friendly, which this makes it all the more confusing; and finally, we're old enough and experienced enough to know that this is unique to only a few Silverton restaurants (yes, a true Karen statement so do as you will with it). For the not so Karen in me, we haven't spoken to management but they have to know, right??
There are a few wonderful restaurants in Silverton that have incredible menus all cooked and prepared very well, unfortunately, their service is so bad that it's often a choice between staying in or making the drive to Salem. Everyone is friendly, I really do like this, but as far as checking on drinks, putting in our orders in time, and then receiving our orders in a timely manner, it's just awful.
Our last visit to one particular restaurant that was about 1/3rd full, it was after the dinner rush, and had us waiting 15 minutes to order drinks, another 22 minutes until we were finally able to place our orders, then another 63 minutes until our order arrived. That was one hour and thirty-eight minutes (98 total) from sit-down until food was served for three of us. And to make it worse, there was only one check on us for refills/reorders between receiving our drinks (27 minutes) and our food arrived (98 minutes). None of the staff was particularly busy either, in fact, most of the staff were just hanging around the bar talking. I know that this is all very "HOLY poop, this Karen was timing it all!" and yes, we were but only because we all agreed to meet there for one last time if the service was bad. And it was.
I have similar stories of a few of Silverton's nicer restaurants but this was the only one where we actually timed anything out. But they all follow similar lines - long wait times for ordering and food delivery and lack of service. Of the few people I've actually talked to about this, every single person has commented on this and with about the same response.
So is there something we can do to get better service or is this just something everyone here deals with.
Sincerely,
Karen lol
