I honestly think that the original game had a vibe that just can’t really be done when it’s not on the PS2 or at least emulating the PS2 feel. It’s why PT and Silent Hill F gets so much praise but with these trailers people are much more skeptical about. Those two seem/seemed to be going for their own specific look and feel that match Silent Hill but was also unique to them. Silent Hill 2 remake feels like that one guy on TikTok who continuously claims he’s bringing back 2000’s emo rock but when you listen to his stuff there is just no sauce to it, or like if they did a The Ring remake but she comes out of an I pad instead of an old TV.
