Prey Drive - Podenco
Post Body

Hi all you sighthound enthusiasts! My partner and I have adopted a 5 year old Podenco mix from a shelter (in Berlin, Germany). She’s adorable however has an astonishing prey drive when out walking, she’s constantly looking under hedges / cars for rodents. I know that’s normal behaviour, however when she fixates on strong smell or sees a rodent she does not want to leave and I usually have to carry her away. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’ve read a lot on the topic but haven’t really found any realistic options. She doesn’t like playing with a ball etc so using that as an alternative won’t work. Anyhow, thanks for the advice guys. Have a lovely Friday.
