I started a mobile detailing service in April as my first side hustle. It’s been a mix of busy and slow periods. June was particularly slow with only 2-3 appointments, but July has picked up significantly. I’m already booked out for the rest of the weekends in July, with a few scattered weekday appointments outside of my regular work schedule.
From 7/8 to 7/12 alone, I’ve made $1,005, with a potential appointment on 7/13 that could bring in an additional $150, totaling $1,155 for the week.
I enjoy detailing, but I’m looking to begin a new venture.
My goal is to eventually make $1,000 a day from a side hustle, allowing me to scale it into a full-time business that I can manage remotely.
I’m also creative and use Photoshop to design concepts. I’m considering starting a clothing brand and launching seasonal collections. I have most of the equipment already (screens, paint, squeegees) - I just need a few items to begin printing at home such as a flash dryer, emulsion, emulsion scooper and a light to burn my designs onto the screen.
For those of you with successful clothing brands, what advice can you offer? And for anyone running a side business that makes $1,000 a day, what strategies, resources, or ideas can you share for someone determined to achieve this goal?
