First off I'd like to say that I've been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember. I have tried many, many side hustles, and there are several that work and many that dont. I'll start with the ones that DONT work, then give you some ideas on ones that DO work.
Side hustles that DONT work:
MLMs most are scammy, you the seller are buying at higher than retail to try to sell over retail. The only person that gets rich with MLMs is the MLM period. You will put in a lot of effort, your friends and family will get tired of your get rich schemes, they don't work, don't waste your time.
Drop shipping - doesn't work for 99% of people. The ONLY way it works if you buy in BULK from overseas, get the merchandise and then sell for profit. You have to have capital to invest to make this work. The inFLUencers are a FLU, and they make money from posting videos telling you how this works, and try to sell you courses on how to do it. It doesn't work. Quit being scammed.
Being an inFLUencer - doesnt make you money unless you are putting in 60 hours a week into it as a career, most inFLUencers earn on average $11k-$12k a year (unless your on OF!). Only the top 1% are driving Lambo's and Bugatis.
Pretty much all the Tiktok videos you see about side hustles, the only person getting hustled is you, as the poster is getting paid of your likes, shares and watch time.
Side Hustles that DO work:
Lawn services, handman services, creative services. There are alot of people (customers) that do not have the skill or tools to do some simple things. If you are handy and capable, you can make residual income by setting up deals for bi-weekly or monthly maintenance. You just keep doing the simple stuff and get paid.
Discount store reselling on Amazon. This can work for you, but A LOT of people are doing this now. You can find new items on discount, then resell on Amazon for profit.
Garage Sales - resell on Ebay Only issue with hitting the garage sales are that you are competing with re-sell shops that are out looking for merch for their brick and motar stores.
Freelance Graphic design work - before AI picture generation, this was lucrative. I'm not a Graphic artist (or artist in anyway), but I was able to earn money doing this as a side hustle. I would get client request, and hire people of UPwork to do the designs. Company would pay $1200 for a good logo, and the logos I could have created from freelancers for like $20-$30. Now that AI picture gen is a thing, this is becoming harder to do, but still can be done.
Social Media Marketer (not inFLUencer), this has been around for 10 years. The only issue with this is a lot of companies have been burned by SEO scammers in the past. If you are good at social media, can get 1000's of followers, you can put that to use. There are companies that will pay good money for good social media marketers.
If you are in IT, there are A LOT of IT side hustles you can do. I've setup a consulting company (on paper), and secured lucrative IT service contracts. I'm an IT person with 20 years experience, and this is how I make my money. ANYONE can LEARN IT. There are alot of FREE resources to learn, YOU have to put in the effort to learn and understand. If you can read, you can use google, you can do IT.
