EDIT: best solution seems to be to join and contact my local Italian Community Center. I just reached out to my organization and got several contacts in palermo. Thank you all for your input!
greetings,
I have found I am eligible for Italian citizenship and just retired in the USA w a solid financial plan, social security etc.
while I was at the workaday grind, my daughter and sister have been visiting Sicily and think i should retire there for at least part of the year.
I am going on my first trip to Sicily this October, and I'd like to meet w a real estate agent and an Italian immigration attorney to file the citizenship paperwork while we are in Italy. (we need a birth certificate I plan to order in Palermo.)
does anyone have a safe and reliable list of contacts that can help expats with these matters? I'm mostly worried about getting sketchy advice, I want to do things correctly.
thank you!
