So many of you have written kind notes here or on Twitter and I have not at all had the emotional wherewithal to respond to them individually (which I'm sorry about, truly). I hope this will suffice.

I started doing the Fullcast for the same reason I started writing at EDSBS - I wanted to make Spencer and Holly and Jason laugh. That's it. I thought (and still think) they were all incredibly smart and sharp and funny and writing or saying things that got them to crack was, frankly, the only compass direction I needed.

This isn't a joke, because we never tell jokes: I genuinely had no belief any of that would resonate with other people. That it has is more gratifying than I can possibly convey. I have truly enjoyed meeting some of y'all in person or sending you stickers or trading emails or reading your disaster submissions. I am sincerely proud that this silly podcast has been a welcome home for people who don't get that kind of treatment elsewhere on the sports internet. I'm glad we have been able to provide comfort or distraction to some of you when life was just very fucking hard.

I don't know what happens to this show or to my furloughed colleagues after today, but even in the worst case scenario, I'm glad we got to do this as long as we did on our terms. Thank you so much for listening.
