BOLD PREDICTIONS GAME UPDATE (After Week 4)
Post Body

  1. 20 people have an unblemished ballot with the maximum possible (right now) score of 15 points - they all picked Florida beating Kentucky OR Hawaii beating a P12 team (1 point), an FCS school beating a Power 5 (5 points, thanks Georgia Tech), and Army covering a 17.5 point spread (9 points).
  2. 93 other people have a ballot with all of those points but with at least one miss in some other category.
  3. One player has seen five of their eight picks go up in flames, with no picks winning yet. Marsumenix missed on El Assico giving us more than 45 points, Kentucky beating UF, Auburn starting 0-4 against P5 teams, USC starting 0-3, and Army beating Michigan. (Marsumenix did not have Army covering the spread despite selecting that last one. Life is full of mysteries.)

And here's where the categories stand as of now:

SUCCESSFUL PICKS

  • Hawaii beats a Pac-12 opponent (1 point)
  • UF beats Kentucky (1 point)
  • FCS school beats a Power 5 (5 points)
  • Army covers a 17.5 spread against Michigan (9 points)

FAILED PICKS

  • El Assico breaks 45 points combined (3 points)
  • Kentucky beats Florida (7 points)
  • Auburn starts 0-4 against Power 5 teams (9 points)
  • Southern Miss beats an SEC opponent (11 points)
  • USC starts 0-3 (11 points)
  • Army beats Michigan (13 points)
  • USC starts 0-5 (13 points)
  • Feleipe Franks wins the Heisman (13 points)
  • USC starts 5-0 (13 points)

LOOKING PROMISING (a selection, not all of em)

  • No Pac-12 team makes the Playoff (1 point)
  • Les Miles and/or Mack Brown makes a bowl game (7 points)
  • A Pac-12 title game with only California teams (11 points)
  • Either James Franklin or Jim Harbaugh winds up leaving/getting fired (11 points)

LOOKING IFFY (same deal)

  • Clay Helton gets fired (3 points)
  • A Pac-12 title game with no California teams (7 points)
  • UMass beats a Big Ten opponent (9 points)
  • A Group of 5 team makes the Playoff (13 points)
