I started these jars at the same time a few months ago

It’s been so long since I’ve started these, that there was also a 3rd jar that’s been placed in substrate and is almost fully colonized already. I only decided to leave this jar (bottom) for comparison, which I just put into my substrate today. Any ideas why the one on the top hasn’t started any growth?
