i know most of the time it’s a ‘joke’ but drugging your pets is so seriously uncool.

r/drugcirclejerk & r/drugscirclejerk are literally for your “will this get my cat high” posts, put them somewhere else. some douche could very easily see your joke post on THIS page & be like “oh yeah im gonna give my dog shrooms now” it’s the equivalent of giving your 3 year old kid shrooms/acid/whatever. stop drugging your pets for laughs.

edit because this just rattles my bones:

while you’re dosing, put your pets in another room, after you set up your dose, put everything away! throughout my teen years i did a wild amount of lsd & shrooms, but my pets were always a first priority. never once in 5 years have ANY of my pets gotten into anything. it’s that simple. put your shit away & wash your fucking hands.

edit x5 but i’m putting it here so it doesn’t get lost. im NOT targeting the post where op ACCIDENTALLY let their cat get into their shrooms. (even though i believe there should have been no access & yes, they should have been more careful) i AM, however, talking about the sweep of ‘joke’ posts that came directly afterward, and that i continue to see all the time, even when something like (the post) doesn’t happen. and i am also directly talking to people who I KNOW give their animals shrooms/lsd PURPOSELY. i know it happens, i hear about it all the time, im a fucking vet tech. (purposely or not, you should be taking longer safety measures to insure that your pet does not get into things it shouldn’t be getting into.) yes, of course you are allowed to be near your pets while you are tripping. but, in order to keep your pets safe, you should limit their access into a room where psychoactive drugs are just laying around. got mushrooms drying out? cool, close your dehydrator, & when you open it, put your cat/dog/ferret/bird/whatever AWAY from the open source! also: no, im not talking about your dog’s life-saving medicine. don’t be fucking dense.

edit #3 because this is just incredible. if you like torturing your pets by giving them mind-altering drugs, that’s on you. imagine giving a 2-5 year old child a shroom dose. they CANNOT consent, even when YOU think ‘oh haha my dog (that would follow me to the ends of the earth) followed me into my bedroom, they must want some of the drugs im doing’. you all are evil human beings & i hope you heal to be a better person.
