As a huuuge proponent of psychedelics I truly looking to bolster my belief in their goodness by trying to find the true harms linked to psychedelics.
Very few studies I've found talk of risks of psychedelics. The main risks I've seen being, abuse by the therapist leading the session and a risk of a bad trip (which depending on who you ask some will tell you there is no such thing as a bad trip. Open to debate I guess).
What I have seen even fewer of, are studies linking psychedelics and psychosis or schizophrenia. It seems that other than anecdotes, there seems to be actual very little verifiable studies showing a strong Correlation.
I'm not looking for anecdotes. All we hear is "oh friend of a cousins girlfriends mother's brother uncle once developed psychosis when they took mushrooms" I'm not saying these stories aren't important or should not be listened to, I'm just saying that as it comes to forming a conclusion on most things, anecdotes should rank near the bottom.
That said, does anyone have (or is anyone doing) any type of study that shows an actual, replicable, link between psilocybin and psychosis or schizophrenia?
