went back to a spot today where previously i had found some ‘could be’ libs. i was initially unsure because with them being very young there were some features that didn’t seem to line up with what i was expecting (baby ones with lighter gills and some with less prominent nipple caps etc)

here’s what info i’ve got:

Habitat: wet grassland, cattle field in long damp grass hiding by the roots or poking out above shorter parts. near mole hills and sheep dung but not in them.

Gills: so the laregest ones have a more distinct purplish brown tone to their gills but i would still say they were pale greyish. the smallest ones are almost white and grey at the darkest points, was told this might be because they haven’t dropped spores yet.

Stem: smallest is around 3cm, tallest at more like 12 including little root. most sir around 8-10cm

Cap: varying from very conical to slightly flatter, all with a nipple but not all super pronounced. the colouration seems to change, darker around the base and lighter at the nipple. every single one that i picked had a glue like separable layer which came of easily (is this exclusive to psilocybes or not the most reliable way to tell for sure?)

as they are drying they are becoming pale yellow top down, looks almost like a rash spreading.

Spore print color: all the slight ink stains on the papers i have transferred between have been light purple brown ish , taking a longer one now for extra detail if necessary but so far looks to be purplish grey/brown tinge.

Bruising: almost all have noticeable olive tint bruising now they are laid out, some more blueish than others the little ones have gone very blue by the time they’ve made it home and the stems of the ones that lost their caps have noticeable blue/green patches now.

i have laid them out to dry and while some seem more telling than others I was quite sure when i was picking them in their groups that they were all the same thing.

i have only included pics of the ones that didn’t break so excuse the useless numbering system. in person the bruising shows up olive blue but on camera the greens aren’t picking up
