Trail Tripping

I am tripping 1.5-2g shrooms for the first time in my life, doing it on long trails. Is it a good idea? Any advice you can give me would be very helpful. Should I explore the trail before a few days of tripping? We are a total of 5/6 guys on shrooms and two sober guys as trip sitters and a couple of them I'm going to pop with aren't that close to me but I have chilled with them for very few times.
