Need Help Diagnosing Mushroom Grow Issues – Strange Growth and Potential Contamination?

Post Body

Hey everyone,

I’m relatively new to mushroom cultivation and could use some advice. I’ve noticed some unusual growth in my current batch, and I'm not sure what’s going on. I’ve attached a picture for reference.

Here are the issues I’m seeing:

  1. Strange Fuzzy Growth: The surface of the substrate is covered with a white, fuzzy layer that seems to be mycelium overgrowth. Is this normal, or should I be concerned about overlay? If so, how can I fix it?

  2. Stalled Mushroom Development: The mushrooms seem underdeveloped and aren’t growing as expected. What could be causing them to stall? Could this be due to environmental conditions like humidity or fresh air exchange?

  3. Possible Contamination: I’m worried there might be some kind of contamination affecting the growth. How can I tell if this is the case, and what steps should I take to address it if it is?

Background info: - I’ve been maintaining the grow kit according to the instructions, but I suspect that the humidity might be off. - I try to open the bag regularly to provide fresh air, but maybe it’s not enough?

Any insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! I want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to save this batch. Thanks in advance for your help!
