First time using agar

First time experimenting with agar usually I go from syringe to bag. Took the cap off my healthiest shroom from the last flush and had it on a piece of foil in case it dropped its spores. I left a cup over it and it has retained most of its moisture. It sat for 2 days in the cup untouched and still looks healthy so I threw some of it into a couple agar dishes. Will it still take or have I waited too long?
