Hi guys, thought I’d write a bit about an experience which has made me to believe I am allergic to a particular strain of mushrooms or potentially the mould on them. It’d be good to know if anyone has experienced anything like this - other wise it’s here incase it’s helpful to anyone!

Background: I’m an experienced tripper, I’ve probably had mushrooms around 20/25 times over the past 6 years in varying doses but my most common is 4g. I’ve also grown my own (golden teachers). In terms of allergies the only food I’ve ever had some sort of reaction to is Quorn, which I believe has a fungi derived ingredient (microprotein). I’m fine with other mushrooms I’ve tried so far. 1 thing to note is that when I come up on every shroom, I feel it first slightly in my throat. Like I feel like I need to clear my throat out.

Trip 1 (type unknown): A few months ago I was hiking on 4g I bought of my regular dude. An hour in when I was peak trip, I felt what I can only describe as some sort of poison travelling up my body from my left hand, into my arm then into my chest, then my neck and lips. I thought I must have been stung by a bug or a plant that caused this. I recovered after around 45 minutes from the initial shock but my left arm and lip stayed numb and tingly all day.

Trip 2 (homegrown golden teachers): Home trip, no adverse effects at all aside from normal having to clear throat out.

Trip 3 (albino penis envy): Bought from regular dude. Out on a hike again, 4g lemon tek, one hour in from nowhere the same thing as Trip 1 but more severe. I thought I was about to pass out, had waves of muscle pain, I vommed twice and my throat felt like it was swelling up from the inside. Again, I recovered after an hour but my throat stayed raspy all day.

Reading posts it seems like Albino Penis Envy are the most common one to trigger allergies/adverse reactions.

Anyone got any comments/experience or insight on this? Could I be allergic to just one type of shroom? How regular is the come up throat feeling? I always thought it was normal and just because of more saliva production.
