TW: MENTIONS OF TRAUMA, PTSD, DEPRESSION, SUICIDE, DEATH AND SEXUAL ASSAULt
Hey shrooms community,
I want to share my personal experience with magic mushrooms, which played a significant role in curing my PTSD and helping me cope with panic attacks, suicidal thoughts and emotional disregulation. As a trans woman from Iran, my background is marked by intense trauma inflicted by society and my own family. The constant fear for my life was ever-present, accompanied by frequent death threats and horrifying incidents where men threatened to attack me and my friends with acid and cause severe harm. Physical abuse from family members and schoolmates was a constant reality, solely because of my identity as a trans person. The fear of arrest was always looming, as Iran executes and imprisons LGBTQ individuals, putting me in immense danger.
Magic mushrooms became the lifeline that saved me. They provided solace and a means to confront the traumatic flashbacks and experiences I endured in Iran. The transformative effects of mushrooms helped me navigate the depths of my pain and begin the healing process.
Now, residing in Canada where I am safe, I can confidently say that mushrooms have helped me more than any DBT therapy or psychiatrist ever could. They have given me a new perspective on life, helping me realize the beauty and worthiness of my existence. Overcoming the internalized self-hate that trauma instilled in me, mushrooms have shown me the importance of celebrating diversity and embracing our differences as human beings.
I am incredibly grateful for this powerful tool that has allowed me to understand the value of my own life. The traumas I experienced led me to doubt myself, but through the use of mushrooms, I have come to recognize the strength and resilience it took to overcome the immense challenges I faced. I am proud to call myself a hero for persevering through the adversity.
To all those who have endured similar hardships, know that you are not alone. Your life matters, and your journey is worth celebrating. Let's continue to support one another and embrace the diversity that makes us all unique.
