OVERenergized. My partner's first experience with Burma.
Post Body

Recently tried Burma shrooms with my partner. I had 1g. He had around 1.5g. It was his first time with shrooms and my second time. We steeped the shrooms like tea and drank it with lemon, ginger and honey.

As the come up started, I started feeling that familiar strange feeling of "everything's off but that's okay, I'm accepting it, breathing, and I'm going with it." My partner, smiling nervously, told me he felt that he "wasn't breathing enough air" though he knew it would pass. This is exactly how I felt the first time I had a strong weed edible, and I suggested that he breathe with me and my friend, watching his belly move (for evidence) and that he feel the breath in his nose. He was mentally aware enough to know that he'd fine, & supress that subtle panic with a good attitude. Gotta admit, it made me nervous to see it happen, but I (and our trusted friend) stayed calm and relaxed and it passed. However, what happened next was something that I hadn't expected.

As we progressed into the later end of the come-up phase approaching the peak, we were all in that "I can't/don't want to talk/interact with others." He seemed pretty disconnected, and after maybe 30 minutes of walking outside, he regained a little bit of the ability to talk. I noticed that he was very jittery - tapping his fingers quickly, and feeling an extreme amount of energy in his body. Enough energy to run, as if he had "drunk 20 cups of coffee". He seemed to have a good, grounded vibe mentally, but said that the amount of energy he felt was uncomfortable. During his peak (the walk outside) he said the physiological sensation of the increased heart beat combined with the psychedelic strangeness of the experienced caused some fear and anxiety, but that he felt grounded enough to let it pass.

I found his description quite interesting; personally I felt way more on the sleepy side than the energized side. Has anyone ever had this kind of "overcaffeinated-like" experience? I'm wondering if it was because of the "Burma" variety. Or perhaps the variety doesn't really matter; this is just how mushrooms affect his body? He'd had a small cup of coffee in the morning, and we took the shrooms at 7:45PM, so I don't think that had to do with it. He had salad briefly before the trip.

Any thoughts or tips? He'd like to try shrooms again, but a variety described as more relaxing and introspective, than "euphoric and energizing," which is how Burma was described at the dispensary.

During the comedown, we painted, listened to music, and cooked pesto pasta with cherry tomatoes, which was delicious. We splurged on decadent, lightly-microwaved chocolate muffins for dessert. Haha. Oh and he did take positive insights from the experience in the days following. :) He said he felt very empowered over his life's direction, and reminded of the arbitrary, constructed nature of the society around us.
