To mist/fan or not to mist/fan?

I have now seen the full range of practice regarding misting and fanning of a bulk spawn - everything from a careful schedule of 3 times per day thru monitoring the microbeads on the substrate surface and misting as needed to sealing everything in a vented monotub and leaving it alone to grow. Keeping down the CO2, keeping up the O2 and humidity has got to be important at this stage. Is it a matter of the local climate? Opinions please.
