I spy my own shimps
Post Body

Hey guys I'm fairly new to shrimps specifically and decided to add them to my small fish community tank.

I've got a well planted 55 gal community tank stocked with a few types of tetras, Corys, platies, barbs, bala sharks, and Chinese algae eaters. The tank is doing amazing and have had zero die-offs since the start. I recently decided to add shrimps as I've always loved the idea of seeing them around so I got a bigger group of 15 - 20 skittle neocardinia shrimps to put into this tank.

Since I've put them in I feel like I barely see any of the shrimps, except for a few that are out and about swimming and doing shrimpy business. Many times though I see 3 or 4 huddled and crammed into the nooks and cranny of my hardscape or under plants. I know the shrimps are doing well as I will see a couple at a time as well as seeing molts here and there. Is this normal shrimp behavior? Or is there anything I can do to encourage them to be more out and active?

Tank parameters Temp: 74°F pH: 6.8 - 7.0 Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 - 0.5 ppm Nitrate: 5 - 20 ppm
