*huff**huff**huff* Mars ran across the fields at night, tears swelling up in her eyes. Eventually finding rest in a dark cave.

*AAAAAAGH* “STUPID SATURN!!! I'm not just a barren rock!! I'm not just a geek! I'm not… a dead world….” Mars said sobbing into her lap. Her tears soaking her red face.

“Um, A-Are you ok?” Pluto asked concerned, coming out from their hiding spot inside the cave.

“HUH!! what?... oh it's… just you Pluto. What do you want?”

“Um, d-did something happen…w-with Saturn and you?”

“WHAT? NO! NO! I-I just… *AAGH* I-I'm fine just go away. “

Pluto looked down at their sister planet as she cried into her hands. Pluto approached cautiously and rested their hand on the shoulder of Mars.

Mars quickly swatted Pluto's hand away “I SAID GO AWAY!!!” Wrath came quickly to Mars but she was a small planet and not the most powerful. Even so she was still stronger and larger than Pluto.

Pluto shreinked away as Mars stood up giving out a small *eep*. What do you want? Come to make fun of me too, just like Saturn and Uranus?! Huh?! Well?! Mars roared her eyes crimson and baring her fangs

“N-no I just… I just thought you needed some help and…” Pluto said, shielding herself with her weak little arms.

“OH!? So now YOU, YOU Want to give ME advice!? LITTLE OLD PLUTO!? What can you help ME with?! You're not even a PLANET!!”

With those words Pluto's fear left them. They stood up and with a single tear running down their cheek they ran deeper into the cave. Mars watched as Pluto disappeared into the shadows of the cave. anger subsiding and tears briefly stopping, her arms rose in a vain attempt to stop Pluto from leaving.

Mars started to slowly follow after Pluto, soon coming across another opening to the cave. The night sky twinkled with brilliant star light and sitting beneath them curled into themself was Pluto.

“I-I'm sorry Pluto I-I didn't mean to say that. I was just mad…” *uuugh* “I took my anger out on you and you didn't deserve that. It's just Saturn and Uranus were, you know.”

“Yeah, I get it” Pluto looked up at the stars “I know how they are”

Mars looked at Pluto with sorrow. She's experienced bullying from the larger planets before but no one has faced more than Pluto. Their small size, their orbit, and much more has made her a target of ridicule for manty years. “I…”

“It's ok, I don't really pay attention to them any more. Nothing any of you can say can hurt me. You know whenever I feel like crying I always end up here, and eventually Earth comes and sits with me for a bit.” A smile stretches across their face.

“I didn't realize this was where you two went. Whenever I get…heated Earth always just gives me a hug and we end up playing with one of her rover kits” *giggle* “She's always there when we need her huh? Even when she gets sick.”

*giggle* “yeah she's too kind for her own good. But you know she never thinks of her situation as a disease right?”

Huh? What do you mean?

Pluto looks at Mars waving her hands. “Well whatever those Human things on her are, Earth never seems bothered about them even now.”

“But they're making her sick, messing with her climate, her temperature even ruining her beautiful oceans!” Mars once had her own oceans but she wasn't strong enough to keep them like earth. But now those living things that call earth their home are ruining them.

“Yeah but I've never heard her complain about them. She always seems to say something positive about them.” they both look up at the stars and smile

”That's true, not to mention all those satellites she keeps gifting us come from all those hu-man.”...Mars looks back at Pluto as she sits next to them. “Hey, I’m sorry again, I know you really wanted to be a planet with the rest of us.” Her eyes shy away upon saying this.

“Oh that's ok, I'm over it.” Pluto says

“W-what? But you were…”

“Yeah, well getting kicked off the planet club wasn’t actually all that bad.” Pluto looked back at Mars, giving her a confident smile.

“What do you mean? I- I thought you were super bummed out because of it?”

“Oh I was for a bit but look at where I am now. I'm no longer the smallest, the last, or the weakest Planet anymore. No, I'm now the first of the Dwarf Planets, the greatest and mightiest of my own class!” Pluto stands and strikes a commanding pose. As they look down at Mars they offer a hand and help them up

“I may not be able to clear my orbit and heck, I even semi orbit my own moon, but I've got more moons than even you and I'm the master of the Kuiper belt! I've got my own unique qualities and I'm happy with who I am. I don't need stinky old Saturn's approval and neither do you.”

“Earth once told me that all that matters is how I see myself and to never be afraid to be my true self. You may not be strong enough to keep your oceans but look at your caps, you still got water up there don't you?”

“Damn Pluto, when did you get so wise?” Mars said, wiping a tear from her eyes.
