The orbiting fleet was demolished, a surprise attack out of nowhere. Debris floated around, or was pulled by our planet's gravity, disentegrating before it even hit the atmosphere. Art raced to the control panel, behind him followed Cara with the access card.

"How did this happen, nothing showed up on our radars, no warning", Cara said frustrated.

"No reports of anything, they must have a way to identify and cloak themselves from our tracker beacons", Art said.

They started to pull up the surrounding planets around them, no beacons had gone off. Nothing appeared to be wrong, but the orbiting stations had been destroyed, wiped out and still no sign of danger.

"It's an invasion." Cara stated suddenly.

"I wouldn't speak so quickly, it's already bad enough. Let's try to communicate." Art replied.

The code was sent out, it had a message that hopefully the other being could easily decode with it's technology. They waited patiently. Ten minutes had gone by when a reply finally came back. It was only three dots on the screen of the terminal. Suddenly all the warning beacons started going off.

"Turn on the visuals that we have left up there, they're revealing themselves", Art said furiously.

The terminal flashed and the visuals of space came on. An entire fleet of ships were there, right on their doorstep.

"We're fucked." Cara sighed. "Why us though? We're a peaceful race, there hasn't been any conflict with another species in so long either." Art said as he put his hand to his forehead, scared and defeated. "I was able to pull some data up by our cameras up there, look at this!" Cara was excited, but the nervousness in her voice was apparent as well.

"What?" Art asked.

"Their ship's, they're regenerating the outside shell! They must move at such a high speed, that's why we couldn't detect them! After all, we couldn't even find a material that could withstand the heat of travelling so fast. All of our test ships would just burn up or be crushed by the force of gravity." Cara said.

"This is unbelievable!" Art said.

They both watched as the fleet made another move. A section moved away as a few made their way to the planet. Slowly they descended to the surface, then suddenly landing on a desolate spot.

"They have landed, send out a distress beacon, and tell the military force here to arm themselves." Cara said with urgency.

A television screen was pulled down and the emergency broadcast was already started, the beings of Shana were aware. New's reporters were already on the scene, shocked by the new arrivals. One of the new's reporters were already by what seemed to be a door to the vessel. .

"They've opened the door, they may be friendly, what are they here for?" The reporter said on the monitor.

Cara and Art simply watched, they were only there to study. A figure appeared on the ship's dock. The being had a muscular build, silver in color, robotic fixtures in some places. It's eyes stared at the reporter, a sadistic glare was in it's eye. The being's arm started to rotate, Cara zoomed in as it was happening, they noticed little particles breaking apart the arm to form a weapon like structure. The reporter started to flee, but suddenly went up into ashe as a beam came from the beings arm.

"They're too advanced, shut down all the systems connecting to the colonies, make sure they do not have any way to trace out the rest of our people." Art told Cara.

Cara immediatly started to write a note first saying "Breached, new species, highly advanced, armed, and not friendly. Fleet size, 1,000 carrier ships. Shana lost." After that, she started to shut down all communication, hoping the fleet couldn't recieve any of the data that was sent.

"Well, if this is the end, it was nice to have you as a friend and a partner in the field." Art said.

"As to you, Art!" Cara replied.

As scientists, they knew other species would come for resources, but not this soon. They broke out a nice bottle of Rhumka (alcohol with a hallucinagenic effect.) They toasted saying "cheer's to evolution". As they drank their final glass, they noticed on the screen that their tool's had picked up a strand of data.

"Art, this is just sad. Look now." Cara had tears in her eyes.

"No way, they're almost like us, except now they are just a metal shell with an organic brain. Our race is almost to that point, but why war, why kill off entire planets, we've seen this kind of attack before, remember?" Art asked.

"I do, hopefully our race will look at these files and decide. Those nanoparticles are extremly effecient though, I must say," Cara replied.

"Hurry and try to see what they're!"

A rapid message was sent. Instantly there was a reply. On the screen it read "Singular human, from planet Earth."
