I've been on Shopify since 2016 and now they are asking for a copy of my ID to prove I own the store. They say they're going to hold my funds hostage until I comply. So I'm trying to comply but I'm befuddled. I scanned both sides of my ID and uploaded it, got rejected. Contacted customer support...
They want COLOR copies of my id, not black and white scans or copies. Okay, so I need to run to a Kinko's store (or whatever) and pay to get a color copy. Here's where my brain shuts down: I'd have to scan that to upload or email it to them, right? And the scan is going to remove the color, rendering that whole exercise pointless.
Or they expect me to go buy a color scanner?
WTH? Is anybody else dealing with this? How did you handle it?
