Fellow daimyo's,
I've completed a couple of legendary campaigns over the years in this game. I've completed a shimazu, date and oda run. Over these years I've also attempted the chosokabe multiple times, but surprisingly I always seem to mess it up.
So yesterday I decided it was time to try it again as I have some free time on my hands now. The early game is always simple enough. I vassalize the Kono and then murder the rest of the island for some early territory and honor. I rush the incense and silk trading nodes which usually works without any trouble. After that my early game strat is to turtle and go for light cav, Katana sam and bow sam and then sail for kyushu for some easy conquest.
But in every attempt I've done so far, there comes a point where the AI's navy spam is just too much for me. It seems that even if I have full stacks of sengoku bune, the AI is still able to crush my navy with ease. That then leads to my harbors getting perma locked basically and I then start economically bleeding dry as I'm no longer able to trade any of my goods.
In my latest run I actually tanked 4 bankruptcies in a row which killed my daimyo honor and as a result, my campaign.
So my question is how do you guys play the chosokabe on legendary and how do you transition to late game armies when your economy starts taking hits?
