For those unaware, Eagle Eagle is a recurring character in the Parodius series, notably appearing as a boss fight in Stage 2 of Parodius Da. It’s a large bald eagle with a US flag colored top hat and bow tie. This is often cited as the reason Parodius never came out in the states, even though it still released in Europe. Strangely, the European version of Parodius Deluxe Pack re colored Eagle Eagle to be a green bird with no American themes. (Deluxe Pack was on the Saturn/PS1, originally slated for a North American release before getting canceled)

Other than the censorship, is there any solid proof out there indicating Eagle Eagle is the culprit?
