How do I get into Shibari?

My girlfriend is a huge fan of Shibari and I’d like to satisfy her needs if possible. We already tried something and we were at a small Shibari gathering which was not very exciting for me to watch to be honest.
I’d really like to catch fire on this but I don’t really get the kink out of it. What made you love Shibari? What is it that makes it exciting for you? Any tipps for me???
