ok so...I'm hoping somebody might be able to help me out here bcuz I'm a bit confused...

about 2-3 weeks ago I went online and applied for a FT position at a SW in my area (located in Massachusetts). It actually happens to be one of their commercial stores. Anyway, I received a phone call from a SW recruiter asking if I was interested in doing a quick/informal phone interview. At the end of our phone conversation, he asked if I'd like to schedule an in-person interview w the SM. I was more than happy to go in for the in-person interview, so he told me he would contact the SM and have him call me to schedule it. Later that day I answered a call from the SM and scheduled the in-person interview for the following morning. The next day I went in to meet w the SM and he gave me a quick tour of the store, asked me a few questions, explained how the whole training process would work, etc. I left the interview feeling satisfied w how things went. About an hour or 2 later, the SW recruiter called me back to inform me that the SM liked me and wanted to hire me for the position - he told me to check my email frequently over the next 48 hrs or so bcuz I would receive the job offer acceptance letter and I would need to provide an e-signature within 24 hrs (otherwise it would expire). The job offer popped up in my inbox and I quickly signed off on it. I received a couple more forms after that which I also signed off on. The last email I got required a signature giving my consent to a background check, which I signed off on as well. It's been roughly 4-5 days since I consented to the background check, HOWEVER, in my original acceptance letter it gave a provisional start date of Monday, Oct 18th. So I guess question is, am I supposed to wait until I hear back from somebody in HR first - letting me know the background check has cleared, possibly providing me w a new start date? or am I supposed to just show up to work at 9am since that's what the original offer stated? hmm... 🤔
