Rotting doors - tips?
Post Body

Hi all, I’ve got a nice shed with some doors that are getting a bit run down. The bottom of the doors are deteriorating and I’m trying to determine which course of action to take.

So far, I’ve replaced the small portion of the floor and the 2 by 4 above it (see 6th photo) which were rotting out. The spaces to the left and right have rotted out as well, so I need to fill those with something.

The front piece of wood on both doors has rotted, and the main panels on the right door have rotted as well.

Each door has three main panels going vertically, with some supporting wood along the front and the back.

1) I’m leaning towards making new doors with plywood, then adding the same trim along the front and supports on the back.

2) I don’t think that replacing portions of the doors would stand the test of time.

3) I’ve got a table saw and a circular saw but no chop saw at the moment.

4) I replaced the deck stairs (see last photo) a few summers ago to replace the old ones, to give you a sense of my skill.
