Shaving for the first time...
Post Body

I've shaved before when I stole my dad's razor (looks kinda like this, but I've never gone all the way with shaving cream and stuff.

I just tried it a minute ago, and disaster is an understatement. I got in there, feeling confident. I got the shaving cream and the little cup he fills with water to clean off the shaving cream while shaving, gave my face a good wash with a clean cloth, and set to work putting the shaving cream on my face. Confidence rising, I placed down the cup and prepared my face for the razor.

And that's when everything went wrong. I pushed the button down on the can of shaving cream, expecting some kind of white foam, and instead got weird blue gel. Confused, I sprayed a little poop-pile about the size of a quarter before realizing "this is proooobably too much." I put it away, and realized I didnt know whether to put it onto my face or the cup or the razor. I decided to rub it on my face, applied waaaaaay too much of the stuff, and ended up washing it off with the washcloth and putting away the gear--smelling pretty good but feeling disappointed.

TL;DR--How do I shave? I have a can of Gillete Sensitive Skin shaving cream and this razor. Although I see everybody recommending double-edge or whatever razors and fancy shaving creams that need special brushes to apply, I'm simply broke and can't really spare any money on more than disposable razor replacements. Thanks in advance!
