DE Safety Razor Advice
Post Body

Hi. Looking for some safety razor advice...

I recently picked up a cheap King C Gillette safety razor just to try it out. I am experienced with a straight razor (shavette and traditional blade) having used one for around ten years, before growing a beard around 5 years ago...I start a new job soon after 5 years of working from home, and want to go into work with a more groomed appearance. Beard edging nice and straight and seeing as I'm balding, a clean shaved head. I fell into the trap of cartridge razors for my scalp and was never happy with using them.

I tried the King C and actually found it extremely easy to use, used around neck and cheeks. Used in my scalp and found it fairly easy to get around, and a decent enough job but did require 3 passes. I have sensitive skin so notice any razor burn and irritation quickly and there was a little on one part of my neck but nothing that wasn't sorted

Anyway, the advice. I have been looking at other DE safety razors. I have soft hair type, but it can be fairly thick in patches. My intention is for shaving every three days, face and scalp,, which on research means I will need something slightly more aggressive? I want to give it the time it needs but I envision 2 passes and I'm done, however most of the aggressive DE safety razors are saying not for beginners...does my straight razor and shavette experience hold up and I won't find the more advanced DE razors to be an issue? If I do go for a more aggressive razor, I guess I can cool it off by using a less keen blade? Any ideas on a good combo for my needs?
