A question regarding guided sharpening systems.
Post Body

I have a lansky diamond sharpening set. It works ok but it doesn't clamp the blade well. Most of my knives have odd shaped spines and not a 90 degree angle there. The lanky doesn't seem to hold these at all and does seem to scratch the blade. I've tried using electric tape on the blade and the clamp but it tends to slide off as I'm sharpening. I'm wondering if the more costly guided systems (like the kme) work better in this regard? Or if there's a solution to this with the lansky I haven't thought of? I do mostly freehand sharpening but occasionally I need to put a new edge on and a guided system is good for that. Thanks!
