Do Diamond stones need to be flattened?
Post Body
Sorry if the question has been asked but my search didn't bring any results.
I just bought a diamond sharpening set (400-1200). I used to do wet stone with mediocre success on pocket knifes. So I thought I give diamonds a shot. Two questions:
- Do these stones have to be flattened AFTER use like wetstone? if so what the heck do you use to flatten diamond (another diamond stone?)
- I hear there is a break in period for the stone to become uniform, how do you know you haven't gone passed that and now it needs to be flattened again?
Thanks for any help.
Edit: Thank you all for your quick replies. I genuinely appreciate it. It clarified it quite a bit.
Comments
No. If a steel stone with diamonds on it is not flat, ypu got bigger problems.
