Scandi Grind sharpening?

They say a scandi is no-brainer easy to sharpen. But I'm having a hard time with putting an even scratch pattern with mine, especially when approaching the curved tip. There's always a danger of convexing the angle. I'm aiming to put a near mirror on my carbon scandi.
