Docstostream tables

I have a new sharepoint where files were migrated via sharegate. Permissions changed after the migration so files were deleted and reimported. Both recycle bins were emptied but the doctostream table remains very large. If I permanently delete all documents can I truncate this table before reimporting or will that cause issues?
