Has anyone played with automating the timeline config. I like to be an OOTB purest as much as I can, for the organizations sake... that being said, trying to build a new PM/ticketing system and rather then going the custom list, non-std JavaScript and DVWP way off the bat i decided to play with/challenge myself to use the new Task list (its amazing if you haven't checked it out BTW).
Top 2 feaures being:
-Timeline integration with list
-Sub-tasking feature integration with list (omg thank god there is a simpler approach to related list column look up form tweaking hell)
OK, so, question/talking point: I want to put the timeline population and/or formatting on rails and there doesn't seem to be a good way to manage it. i.e. all tasks with this filter value get populated automatically and are blue, on line 1; all tasks with another filter value get populated automatically and are red on line 2, etc.
thoughts?
PS best blog I've found diving into the rabbit hole on it, the other 90% of stuff you find is how to use it and how cool the basic features are (please stop making those, we have enough, nerdy SharePoint evangelist pplz) http://www.sweeneyrobb.com/blog/2014/02/09/sharepoint-2013-discovering-timeline-view-automation/
