Hi

I currently running "tales from the demon lord" and since one character has amnesia and doesn't know what happened during the last 6 years of his life but knows hat he had been possessed by a demon (it seems) I kinda got the idea that he was (next to Katandramus) the second in charge of the brotherhood in crossings.

Also not the random Clockwork sends the group to the temple (10th adventure) but both himself and the clockwork (which they met) just remembering some kind of temple they were at. The player also got a crystal skull as Interesting thing which talks to him and sends him visions.

Sooooo My idea was that the brotherhood never wanted to call the demon lord but one of the princes (maybe the one of forbidden knowledge) and make player some kind of avatar though the ritual failed and a big part of the prince is still dormant in the player or crystal skull and the remaining in the void.

After thinking about it..... Does that make sense? Or are devils more likely to offer "forbidden knowledge" and where is the difference between a devil and a demon since both of them kinda "need" humans to either get corrupted or "destroy the world"

Edit: I'm coming from an RPG where devils / hell doesn't exist and demons are the big bad
