I have been texting with the former Women's Division member who wrote me a letter last week telling me she is done with the SGI cult and asking to talk to me for support, if I was willing.
Today, we hung out in my backyard and talked for a couple hours both about her personal problems she's been having and some of the negative experiences she's had with the Women's Division district and chapter leaders.
She's basically found herself in one of the most difficult points in her life: lost her job, has no unemployment income, had to kick her daughter out of her house and they are now estranged. This all happened in the last six months.
She reached out to the WD leaders telling them about her problems and asking them for "member care" and they gave her ZERO actual help. I'm sure you can all guess what they said to her about these literally life-threatening problems she is facing: that's right -- "chant to overcome it."
Fuck y'all SGI. Fuck. You. All.
Although I couldn't do much to help this woman, I AT LEAST gave her a list of local COVID resources that are helping our community with numerous problems such as assistance for rent, utilities and food.
If SGI members actually cared about helping others, they should at the fucking minimum know about these kinds of resources and be sharing them with their members during this difficult time.
