I have to learned so many important terms on this reddit group that helped me to better understand the cult techniques that SGI members used against me when I was in their throes. And I learned lots of terms here that explained some of my own inner childhood trauma that made me a lot more susceptible to cult manipulation.
Here's another term I learned about recently on a mental health Instagram page I follow: Fawning.
Fawning is basically a term that describes a person's ability to forget their own self identity because they have allowed themselves to be taken over by someone else's. It's another way to describe people who are "people pleasers" and those who feel they have to constantly project positivity to appease someone else.
The insta guy I follow just posted this little reel that reminded me SO MUCH of how I used to act as a leader in the SGI, and this behavior is VERY common among the SGI leaders in general. I'm still working on correcting this in myself.

What do you all think of this video clip? Look familiar? Did you find yourself "Fawning" when you were in the cult? Do you find yourself doing it still or have you become more aware and able to change your behavior?
