Sometimes a little "tough love" is needed to make your dream build come true
Post Body

My first sffpc. After tons of research, I settled on the NCase M1 Gigabyte B550I Mobo Noctua C14S 5600x (eventually an rtx 3000)...

... turns out it wasn't enough research, because the Gigabyte B550I has an offset CPU socket that makes the C14S stick out the top by 2-3mm. I was going to give up on it, but then my friend Mr. Pliers convinced me not to give up on my dreams.

And it works great! Lucky only the corners of the aluminum need to be trimmed down and, even better, they can just be folded down without any cutting needed. Also, CPU temps saw no change between pre/post aluminum surgery.

As a bonus, I was able to re-use the 140mm fan from the cooler as a bottom intake (after cutting away the rubber where it would touch the side panel clips)

May not be as pretty as some of the other builds here, but I love it, hacks and all :D
