Is losing virginity to a hookup a good idea?

I’m 22M and I’ve recently started seriously considering the idea of losing my virginity. I don’t have any interest in any kind of relationship at the moment though. Is it a good idea for my first sexual experience to be a hookup with a stranger? Also, if that’s an okay idea, what’s the best way to find someone to hook up with?
