condoms 100% effective?

Me and my gf wants to have sex but she fears about pregnancy. Though I will use condom. Can anyone confirm if condoms are most effective and secured form of contraceptives? Are they 100% effective? Because she doesn't want to use birth control pills.
And also can lube cause infection in vagina?
