Preventing hip pain

I feel like this is a silly question, but what exercises can be done to strengthen/loosen/whatever my hips so that they don’t hurt from spreading my legs so far during long PIV in varying positions? I lift, cycle, and stretch 3-4 times a week. Maybe need to do yoga? Any specific moves? Didn’t think I’d get rusty enough to have these issues but after a long dry spell here I am. I’m not as limber as I was 10 years ago. TIA :)
