Is Anal worth it? Any advice?

I (m22) am not really an anal guy never have been that interested. My gf (f23) are both very inexperienced (we are each others first sexual relationship) and she said recently she would like to try it. I am not opposed and am happy to try it for her, but would love to know what people's opinions are. It seems like a lot of effort, is it worth it? I have seen the occasional comment that it's mostly good for guys, will she be likely to enjoy it?

Any advice on how to approach it for beginners?
