how realistic is porn?

just curious, does what we see in porn, in terms of what they do, actually happen in real life
or is the envelope being pushed, for the sake of entertainment, kinda like car chases in movies that are over the top. or am i just vanilla?
sometimes, when i see what they do in adult movies, i'm shocked that they would do that. sometimes a few 'eewws' emerge lol.
