Some doubt about anal foreplay

Lately my GF(27) and me(28) have been engaging in a lot of anal sex and foreplay.

While I have seen many articles, posts and opinions about how to prepare, what lubricants to use. I find there is no much real info on the hygiene side. The only true advice i found is the classic no switch from hole to hole and basic stuff like that.
