With that said, I feel a constant need to have an orgasm every hour or two. I’ve been this way since I was little. My libido has never subsided, and when I was in my early to mid-20s I engaged in a lot of reckless behaviors just to satisfy my sex drive. It’s not an emotional need. It literally feels like a congestion in my pelvic area that builds to the point of pain if I don’t have an orgasm. Sometimes, if it gets too painful, I cry myself to sleep because even masturbation doesn’t help. Sometimes it makes it worse. Before I was in a committed and closed relationship, I used to rotate between 3 or 4 casual partners throughout the week, but it was never enough, and I hated having to travel so much around the city.
My current relationship partner (29M) is an amazingly generous lover with a high libido. He is happy to have sex at least twice a day and will give me an assist when I’m getting myself off, and he’s too tired to join in fully. However, even he can’t satisfy my libido entirely. I feel bad for pestering him for sex so frequently, and often it feels like my drive gets in the way of being productive at work.
Other than that, I have actively worked to reduce my risky behaviors, I have spoken with my therapist about it, and more generally, I believe I have a very positive and healthy view of sex. It seems to just be a very strong physical need, and it’s remained consistent throughout my life.
Does anybody have any advice for managing or lowering a high libido/hypersexuality? Thanks!
