For those of you in a relationship, how comfortable is masturbation between you?

Im curious because I have been married for about 10 years. Both my wife and I masturbate and know that each other does. However, when the night winds down and neither of us feel like having sex, I still want to get off most nights.
Now most the time I just wait till I have a moment alone, or at the very least till she falls asleep.
However I would love to be at the point to where we could just crank one out wether or not the other is present.
How common is that? And if so, how did you get to that point?
