While I completely get that "everyone is different", I'm asking in the general sense. The last couple of women that I've dated seemed to indicated that I'm not as pushy about sex as most men they meet. My general approach has always been: fool around until they strongly indicate they want to have sex (e.g. say something like "I want you", take a piece of clothing off of me/them, etc.). While it's been fine in the past, these last couple of women have seemed to indicate that they're used to someone more aggressive. Phrases like "you're such a gentleman", "most guys are pushing for sex by the second date", and "you're so chill" have punctuated the conversation.
While this could be a construed as a compliment in most scenarios, I feel like I've deviated so far from some unspoken standard that they're turned off. So my question becomes: what do most men do to push for sex? Also, is that desirable?
Background: I'm in my early 30s, was a late bloomer (virgin till 26), have slept with ~15 women, live in a very type-A east coast city, and have never had a relationship > 10 months.
